What are your favorite quick recipes?

Main Post:

Both me and my partner are very active and don’t have any restrictive diets, so don’t shy away from your best “unhealthy” recipes!!

I also LOVE spices and a little bit of heat, so don’t shy away from any of those options either!

I’m looking forward to see everyone’s favorite recipes!

Top Comment: Bean burritos. Open a can of refried beans put some on a plate and microwave it. Then put down the middle of a tortilla and roll it up. Add in grated cheese if you have it. Dip it in salsa and munch away. I love it.

What are your favorite quick, simple, and delicious dishes?

Main Post:

I recently started living on my own in a rented place and had to learn to cook by myself. However, besides making instant noodles, I can hardly cook at all. I’d like to know if there are any simple and easy-to-learn dishes?

Top Comment: Sheet pan dinners. Put it on the tray, bake it all, done.

I can’t cook and need super easy recipes 😭

Main Post:

I like to say I’m my mom made over b/c she doesn’t cook either. Me and my fiance (he’s obviously the cooker here) cooks for his family of 8 of us total (we rotate days to cook during week) but I currently don’t have a job and they just added an extra day onto our days to cook out of the week and he works in the evenings a lot of these days, so I’m stuck making dinner for everyone. I don’t like cooking, I hate it, & I don’t know how honestly. I’ve only ever been comfortable cooking hamburger meat. I was raised on McDonald’s y’all, I’m not joking, and got spoiled before my grandma passed with her cooking. I also struggle to ask for help from them b/c they will literally make you feel stupid for asking sometimes. So I’m asking yall, what’s your easy meals to make and something to feed all 8 of us on a budget? We also get tired of eating the same thing over and over again so I’m curious to what yall say!

Top Comment: What about crock pot meals, chili, spaghetti, chicken and noodles. Just google easy recipes. You tube videos.

[RECIPE] Quick & Easy Cracker Dip for Parties

Main Post:

With July 4th just a couple of days away, I wanted to share a popular dip recipe that I make for almost every gathering. Disclaimer: it's not what I would classify as "healthy" but it makes up for it in deliciousness.

1 8oz. Package of Plain Cream Cheese (softened) 1 pouch (approx. 4 oz) of Hormel Real Bacon Pieces (the softer, real bacon pieces, not the hard, crunchy ones) Approx. 1 Tbs. each of freshly diced parsley and chives Serve while the dip is still spreadable

Pairs well with Sociables crackers or other club-style crackers. I have had varied success with adding hot sauce sometimes, curry in a different batch, and even pico de gallo, strangely enough. Experiment with this however you wish, but the original recipe is hard to beat.

Top Comment: 1 cup of sour cream and a pouch of Continental Chicken Noodle Soup. Mix and refrigerate. That's my go to for when I have parties. The noodles add an extra texture.

What are some of your cheap, quick and healthy recipes?

Main Post:

My biggest weakness is definitely my diet, and for years I've just been giving myself the excuse that I can't afford it, but it's been enough of that. I'm an adult now and I can afford paying to go out, then I definitely can afford budgeting and having a healthy diet and slim down some. I was hoping you guys could tell me some of your recipes and help me out.

My FUCKING BEEF STEW. Shit is insanely fucking dank and easy. I MEAN INSANELY FUCKING DANK, You will eat this shit non stop for days. Here's what you need.

  • Stew Meat
  • Frozen Corn/Peas/Carrots Blend
  • 1 Celery Stalk
  • 1 Large Red Onion
  • 1 Green Bell or Poblano Pepper (optional)
  • Garlic Cloves (optional)
  • 3-4 Large Potatoes or 5 small-medium ones of your favorite potato
  • Beef Stock
  • Worcestershire sauce, Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder

Talk about some hearty fucking shit? I've got it for you. Insanely Healthy and delicious as can beeeeeee.

Start off by dicing all your veg, onion, celery, pepper, garlic (mince), and Potatoes (medium dice). Start a large pot with 1tbs butter and a little bit of oil. Once Hot Drop all of your onions, celery, peppers in the pot.

Let cook 1-2 mins, Then place the stew meat in the pot, Cook until the veg is translucent and the meat is seared on the outside. Add garlic in the final minute, as I always say, DON'T BURN THE FUCKING GARLIC FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. Season with salt/pepper/op/gp.

Pour in the Beef Stock/Broth. Add Potatoes, Add Frozen Corn/Pea/Carrot blend, add water to top off the pot, boil. Boil for about 20 minutes or until the potatoes are soft. After that Bring to a simmer, add worcestershire sauce, season appropriately and kind of let it stew and simmer for 5-10 more mins and let all those flavors mellow.

It's so fucking simple, yet so fucking delicious, and So fucking good and healthy for you.

For some sweet fucking kicks you can pour over rice, add oyster crackers or add beans if you want some additional protein, a nice can of black beans couldn't hurt. Also Add a beer to the stew mix if your feeling frisky, i forgot about this, I normally use a Blue Moon. Ty Stantheman

When you make this, Your family will love you, You will love you and You won't EVER Buy that fucking Canned "Beef Stew" fucking impersonator again. That asshole....

As always mo fucka's

Keep it Real.

Simple dinners for two?

Main Post:

My partner and myself have recently started experimenting with actually cooking for dinner a bit more, but only have a few recipes under us (Mac and cheese, carbonara, chicken pie, burrito bowls, toad in the hole). Are there any easy, less than an hour to make recipes that anyone can recommend? :)

Top Comment: Stir fries are quick and easy and a good way to use up whatever protien and vegetables you have on hand.

What are some meals that are simple to make, but easy to impress people with?

Main Post:

I'm looking for new recipe ideas to add to my menu at home. I cook almost every night, and recently I've been getting tired of repeating stuff. Also, side dishes would be great to have. If you have a great side dish recipe, or a way to change up veggies and such, please share!

Edit: Thank you for taking the time to share some great ideas that I'll definitely be trying soon!

Top Comment:

I cook every day, and I don't like to repeat things much, so here are just a few things! I will say that most of the time I don't follow recipes, and I encourage anyone that wants to become great at cooking to be willing to experiment and have fun with food. But these are great as is even if you don't like changing things up!

Thai Chicken Enchiladas

Pad Thai

Crab Cakes with Spicy Remoulade

Bacon Beer Cornbread

Cashew Pork Stir-Fry

Filthy Burgers

Pizza on this garlic bread pizza crust

Melt-in-Your-Mouth Chuck Roast

French Onion Soup

Roasted Tomato Caprese Panzanella

Mexican Pot Roast Tacos (the meat is good on everything, not just tacos)

Creamy Pasta Verde with Garlic Brown Butter Bread Crumbs

Coconut-Pecan Slow Cooker Sweet Potatoes (minus the coconut for me, because yuck)

Any meat dish served with port wine and fig sauce. Particularly a nice rib roast. All you have to do to the roast itself is rub it with some spices. I last used salt, pepper, cloves, nutmeg, and rosemary, or something strange like that.

One of the easiest meals I make is slow cooker pulled pork. Throw in a pork loin with some garlic, salt and paprika, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, a tablespoon of liquid smoke, (YES, really just 2 tbsp liquid) and cook on high for 5-6 hours or til it shreds easily. Then add your sauce (I make mine with a mixture of vinegar, crushed pepper, mustard, ketchup, garlic, salt, pepper, hot sauce and some other junk, but you can also use premade), and you've got awesome pulled pork with minimal effort.

Oh, and real Pecan Pie without all that corn syrup. A must have.

And this Peanut Butter Fudge Cheesecake. Life-changing.

EDIT: OH MY GOSH, I FORGOT. Grilling pizza is so exciting. People are always impressed. And it's delicious. Do that.

And the best brownies ever.

EDIT 2: Thanks for the gold, reddit friend! :)
